Non-bank international lenders demonstrated consistent growth in the first half of 2025. This report tracks the most active non-bank lending groups across 61 countries that operate in various segments.

The H1 2025 confirmed that key international groups are carving out opportunities in emerging markets and consolidating positions in mature ones. The sector remains shaped by three powerful forces: concentration of revenues in key geographies, acceleration of global expansion, and diversification beyond core consumer lending segment.

Key Financial Results

H1 2025 brought the positive dynamics for most groups that disclosed their data. Aventus Group reported strong profitability, posting a 33% increase in net profit, supported by expansion into high-yield consumer lending niches. International Personal Finance faced revenue pressure (-6.43%) due to tighter regulation and decreasing demand in Europe but still managed to improve profitability through cost optimization and compliance wins.

After a challenging period UnaFinancial rebounded to profitability by portfolio restructuring and focus on car loans and SME installment lending. Another mid-sized player Wandoofinance achieved a record – revenues raised by 108% while net profit surged 475% compared with H1 2024.

Eleving Group reported an increase in revenue of 10.8% YoY, supported by record loan issuance volumes of EUR 200.1M in H1 2025. Expansion of branch networks and sales channels, particularly across Sub-Saharan Africa, enabled these strong results.

Overall, revenue concentration remains high in a handful of markets – the Philippines, Kazakhstan, India, Mexico, and Spain together account for the majority of FY 2024 revenues. At the same time, Southeastern and Eastern Europe (Romania, Poland, Ukraine) continue to serve as a key hub for mid-sized non-bank lenders.

Geographic Expansion

International lenders continue their market expansion:

  • Aventus Group and Eleving Group are advancing into Africa and Latin America, diversifying beyond their traditional bases.

  • UnaFinancial marked entry into Uzbekistan with loans to SMEs, self-employed individuals, and dehkan farms.

  • Fingular is targeting to expand in Bangladesh, Qatar, Mexico, Nigeria, Egypt, and Kenya by the end of 2025..

Product Launch and Diversification

Beyond consumer lending, some groups are widening their portfolios:

  • Aventus is building new businesses in real estate and agribusiness.

  • Eleving is scaling digital and asset-backed lending solutions in Africa.

  • Creditstar is expanding into BNPL, while International Personal Finance is preparing to launch credit cards, and UnaFinancial is planning to roll out car loans.

  • Creditstar, Sunfinance, and ID Finance all tapped bond markets with new issuances.

  • Credit Saison announced the successful completion of an €11.3M bond issuance in March 2025, with bonds issued on April 1.

  • Avafin exited P2P funding, instead relying on debt facilities backed by Capitec Bank.
